Southwest Missouri
As mentioned earlier, there is more than enough to keep the entire family entertained while on a vacation in Southwest Missouri. This area is especially nice for those who enjoy outdoor activities, but if you aren't big on the Great Outdoors, don't worry, there are plenty of indoor attractions scattered throughout the area. Here are just a few of the greatest family attractions located in Southwest Missouri.
Table Rock Lake
Taking the family out on the lake for a day is a great way to bond and have a great time. Whether you wish to rent a boat and try out a few new water sports or simply sit on the beach and swim in the cool waters, Table Rock Lake is a great place to do so. The large lake is a haven for fishing, swimming, and boating. Why not rent a jet ski for the day and spend time exploring the lake? If you have a large family and want to rent a boat, that is entirely possible as well. With a boat you'll be able to spend the entire day out on the lake enjoying everything that the water has to offer. Eat a picnic on deck, then grab the life jackets and try water skiing or tubing. Throw up a flag and let the kids swim to their hearts content while parents relax in the sun.
Branson
Now, here is the destination for all of you indoorsy people out there. Branson is undoubtedly the largest city of attractions in all of Missouri, and possibly the entire Midwest. Here you can travel back in time at a fabulous theme park, see international stars perform on glorious stages, and eat heaping plates of Southern favorites. That's right, Branson is the live show capital of the world, and nearly every show in the city is family friendly. From the hysterical Baldknobbers Show to the amazing harmonies of the brothers at Six, there is a show suited to nearly everyone in this town. Visit the Titanic and see a replica of the ship filled with artifacts and information. Take the kids to White Water and enjoy a day splashing in a water park. Then, when everyone is tuckered out, get a great night's sleep in one of the comfortable hotels or bed and breakfasts in the area.
