Missouri State University
When students begin to look at Missouri State University they are invariably impressed with the academic excellence of the university. While MSU has great athletic and organizational programs available, they are undoubtably known for their academic excellence. There are over 150 undergraduate programs available at MSU as well as 47 graduate programs. There are actually eight different college divisions at MSU which encompass most of the majors, minors, and graduate studies available through the university. Here is a breakdown of each individual college and the programs that it includes.
College of Arts and Letters
The College of Arts and Letters focuses on human communication of all kinds. Whether it is visual, spoken, written, or otherwise communicated, all of the art in the world is a form of speaking and expressing. This specific College addresses students' creative and performance skills, their communication effectiveness, and their ability to become professionals.
College of Business Administration
Whether you want to be part of a world wide corporation or run a business out of your home, this MSU college has the means to provide you with the education necessary to do so. This College has both undergraduate and graduate programs in fields related to business which include: accounting, management, finances, and many more.
College of Continuing Education and the Extended University
This College is for students looking to acquire their high school equivalency diploma (the GED) or for students who are looking to take college courses while still in lower education atmospheres. This College also offers training for career professionals who feel they need a touch up on the basics. Intersession and special courses are also part of this division.
College of Education
The College of Education contains all courses for those interested in teaching others. Whether you wish to be an administrator, counselor, or deal in the fields of early childhood education or family development, you'll find all necessary information at the College of Education.
College of Health and Human Services
This College offers 16 undergraduate and 15 graduate programs related to health and human services. Nursing, physical therapy, social work, and even biomedical sciences are all included in this division. When taking part in this degree program you will have access to wonderful laboratory, research, and internship opportunities.
College of Humanities and Public Affairs
Sixteen undergraduate and six graduate degree programs related to the humanities are all offered through this specific college. History, criminology, political science, and many other degree programs are housed here. Religious studies and economics programs are also part of this very exciting College.
College of Natural and Applied Sciences
If you are interested in research, then being part of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences may be a fit for you. With eight departments and over 200 staff members, finding a program or a person to help you academically shouldn't be too difficult when part of this specific College.
Graduate College
If you've already earned your undergraduate degree but wish to continue your education, then MSU has a specific College geared toward you. Master's degrees can be earned online and in the classroom at MSU. There is a special acceleration program that allows undergraduate students planning to earn their Master degree to combine both the graduate and undergraduate studies.
